For 4½ days during the 2026 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, the Wheels of Faith Motorcycle Ministry team served in Hill City, South Dakota.
Sturgis brings people together from across the country, and for us, that creates opportunities to meet people where they are. Sometimes a conversation begins with a motorcycle. Sometimes it starts with a glitter tattoo, a wristband, a key ring, or a spin of the Wheel of Dysfunction.
What matters is where that conversation can lead.
Sharing Jesus One Conversation at a Time
Throughout our time in Hill City, members of the team talked with bikers and visitors, shared God’s Word, prayed with individuals and couples, and blessed motorcycles. We also had opportunities to meet and talk with other Christian groups who were there serving during Sturgis.
The Wheel of Dysfunction once again gave us a fun way to draw people in and start conversations. The question, “What is your dysfunction today?” might bring a smile or a laugh, but it also gives us an opportunity to talk, listen, and share.
Our glitter tattoo area provided another way to connect with children, families, and even a few four-legged Sturgis visitors who wanted to get in on the fun.
But behind all the activity was the reason we were there: to share Jesus with the people God placed in front of us.
Ministry, Fellowship, and a Few Challenges
Sturgis outreach isn’t only about what happens at the booth.
Our team prayed together, worshiped together, worked together, shared meals, and spent time with other Christians. Jeff also preached during Sunday morning services at Lighthouse Assembly of God.
We are especially thankful for Lighthouse Assembly of God and the shelter and support they provided for our team during our time in Hill City.
The trip also brought a few unexpected challenges. Rain and hail didn’t stop the bikers—or our team. Even a broken van window on the interstate became something we simply had to deal with and keep moving.
A Little Time to See the Black Hills
Along the way, there was also time to experience some of what makes South Dakota special.
Motorcycles were everywhere, but so were the Black Hills National Forest, Needles Highway, Mount Rushmore through the tunnel, pronghorn, and plenty of those “fluffy cows” that are much better admired from a distance.
Those moments are part of the fellowship and memories that come with serving together.

During those 4½ days, our team recorded:
- 17 salvations
- 10 rededications
- 78 prayers
- 30 bike blessings
- 111 tattoos
Those numbers help tell part of the story, but behind every number is a person we had an opportunity to meet and connect with.
For Wheels of Faith Motorcycle Ministry, Sturgis isn’t simply another motorcycle rally. It is another place where we have an opportunity to meet people, build relationships, and share Jesus.
